Why I Write.
Over the break, I had a chance to write down a few words that is the heart of what and why I write. These are them:
I write because it allows me to think. When I get a chance to sit down and process life and what I have had the opportunity to experience here in this moment. Writing is my form of Expression. Writing is allowing me to believe in myself. Writing is believing in others. Writing is believing that God can use me as a vessel. I write to motivate, inspire, and challenge both the people I am interconnected with and the world I am engaged with. I write as a means to be Therapeutic. I write as an Assignment of the Divine intervention of my thought life. I write as if I were speaking. I write loudly. I write boldly. I write with conviction and comfort. I write to please. I write to displease. God is the author of my life, so I write as the author writes. I write to encourage. I write to express passion. Writing to me is a way for me to explore both the heart of myself and those who enter into the abyss of the melodies written on a page. I write to admire those and things around me. I write because I am known. I write because I am unknown. I write as if being able to uncover the paradoxes of life and the faith. The paradox of faith inspires me to write. I write as my form of dance, a way to let loose and give everything I am. I write with abundant energy. I write because I love. I am because of what I often write. I write what I often am. I have done… and do because of the love of my creator. I yearn to do because I love, or because I am. I write me. Me is sometimes the expression of what I write. I write what I do. I do what I write. I write because I am loved. I write because it allows me to sit. Allows me to understand. Allows me to challenge. Allows me to speak. Allows me to love. Allows me to be loved. I write because I write. I write because of you!
i am sure that as I enter 2008… I will begin to write what it is that inspires and challenges me and hopefully leads you to (1) a clearer idea of who God is, (2) a more authentic understanding of real community, and (3) hopefully I will lead us in an ongoing dialogue of what it means to live a full life!
so I leave you with three words:
