The 7th Day
Hey.
Have you ever been in one of those moments in life when you look around and you realize that you are in a season where you are living in a way that is much different than anything else you have ever lived before? Your living in a way that is awkward based on your current surroundings? a little out of the ordinary, and you don’t really have a way to pinpoint it to one specific thing? You just can’t for the LIFE OF YOU figure out what exactly it is that is causing you to live this way. Its not that your really UNsatisfied in life, i mean what brings you joy is that you are actually feeling something and acting in a certain way toward a certain thing.
weather it be a new job, a new home, maybe a new boyfriend, or girlfriend, roommate, friend or family member. Sometimes the strangest of things can cause us to live in a season of life that isn’t natural.
These outside forces begin to take over our life and shape who we are in those moments. And this can actually be a good thing. It doesn’t have to be a bad thing that moving, or changing schools or dating, or a boss can cause us to change who we are. It’s just that sometimes it can get scary.
I think you know what I mean when I say that it can sometimes get really scary.
One of those scarys that cause you to realize that you are living life in a way that is entirely different that the DNA that has been engraved in you since birth. You are living against the grain of what you have been taught while growing up or in your past circumstances.
But what do we do with these moments? I mean if you ask me, sometimes I feel like we live life in these moments and can sometimes feel as if we have thrown away precious time… or part of our lives to meaningless things.
But no.
I think that one of the most powerful things we can do in life when we realize that we aren’t on the path that we intended to be on, or realize that we are somewhere completely different than where God wants us to be… is to step back. Hit the pause button on the record deck of our lives and just BREATHE.
take space.
make space.
And begin to let God back in our life. Let him radically change the current situation that we are in and remind us that we are LOVED… unconditionally… with no strings attached… no contract and small print, the no reason at all kind of love… just a simple love that causes each and every human to be a son or a daughter of Christ.
Let him hold you in his hand… and give you a big hug like your dad would after being on a trip for weeks on end. Let him pick you up, swing you around and dance with you like a new bride and groom in a romance novel…… cause its in these sweet engaging moments with our heavenly father that reminds us that we are His. Pure. and loved.
What did God do on the 7th day of creation? he took a break from the craziness of life, to just love us and spend time with us. So what if we decided to have a 7th day in our lives? What would happen if we just tried? would we fall over and die? I doubt it.
take a day.
take a breath.
sit back and soak in the glorious wonders of a merciful father who is screaming out to you soooooo incredibly loud, “I’M MADLY IN LOVE WITH YOU!” and if you feel compelled to fall on your knees in those moments… you not alone. if you feel like you need to let a wash of tears roll out… your not alone. Your in HIS presence, and its all o k.
