An Encouraging Heart.
When was the last time you were encouraged? whether it was on a sports team and your teammates were cheering you on or a friend of yours complimented you on doing something really cool. When was it? was it yesterday? 4 days ago? 2 weeks ago? 3 months ago? a year ago? 6 years ago?
once you have been able to figure that out, I want you to think about the last time you remember encouraging someone. Odds are that you were encouraged [unless you are on a sports team] more recently that you can remember you encouraged someone.
This past summer and the weeks since, I have tried something new… Encourage someone daily! when you encourage someone and you are in the habit of making sure you have encouraged someone each day… you become to shape your heart into a humble heart and one the prefers to serve than be served.
What every person in the world encouraged one other person every day… what would our world look like? any wars? any political issues, Hate crimes?
its really cool to see that when you encourage someone how they instantly begin to change… the first thing I have noticed is that most people are immediately looking for something to complement you on [or me in this case]. A lot of times, they like to encourage me or complement me on encouraging me… [if you can’t see the pattern here you should know that is going in circles].
so let me leave you with this… Who have you encouraged today? who is someone who you think may need encouragement today? Is there someone you know that is struggling with a relationship with a friend? someone who has been sucked into the wrong crowd of friends? maybe there is someone who you hang out with everyday that is struggling with issues at home in their family. But maybe someone near you is dealing with not only what is at home and their relationships, but maybe has a low self-esteem and lack confidence in themselves.
find those people… and encourage them.
