Thought you guys would enjoy seeing this. It’s from one of the recent showcases I have worked on this year. My Company was brought in to do all the visuals and camera work… so I was the lucky one to edit it all together! This was a fun project. Hope you enjoy.
I don’t really know why today of all days I feel the need to put things into writing. Yesterday ended the greatest adventure within my production experience, The Best of the Best. The thing is, that because I have been so preoccupied with all that the show has had required of me (time, energy, thought and persistence), I havent really been able to listen to my heart lately. Tonight… for the first time in nearly 5 months, I have been able to be still and listen.
We just had a bunch of great friends come over and eat burgers and sit around a fire, and because of the tremendous amount of school work going on and the fact that I have been exhausted this whole week, I was ready to go back inside and crash. However, for some reason I felt as if I needed to write my paper and go outside. So i took my laptop and headed outside. My roommate left and i looked up at the stars, felt the cool summer breeze sweep in, and a world of emotion kicked in.
yeah. Joy. Fear. Love and Pain.
I don’t know if I can explain all of these emotions in the amount of time that you would actually read… but maybe a cup of coffee would do it justice. I just know that I am in an interesting place, two weeks before graduation where God may be getting ready to do some incredible things with my life. It may be something that will hurt, it may not pay well, it may require me to go somewhere and do something I really don’t want to do. I mean, I am not an expert by any means in my field, but I do think that I have been blessed to have as many experiences as I have.
i don’t really know what this means for you. What sort of Joy are you experiencing? What sort of fear are you feeling? Do you feel love? or are you in the midst of pain?
I do know that all of these feelings lead to allowing us to experience gladness and fullness in life. I think i need to spend some time listening more. Waiting more, and allowing the stillness and quiet to roar louder than the heavens.

As you guys know well enough by now, I am very involved over at Belmont University. I love this place, and everything that it encompasses! I love being at the forefront of innovation, creativity and authenticity, but more important, I love the people here.
I am going to be involved in yet another showcase, this time in a different role and not producing video. I will be a part of the team that is coming up with the BIG PICTURE. So, since i consider most of you who reads this on a daily basis “family” I figured this would be a great place to share with you our website which was just uploaded.
The whole site is not complete, so give me a little grace with that. With the event being close to a month away, we wanted to get it up as soon as possible! I would like to invite each of you to this fantastic evening. It not only will mean the world to me, but it will also be a great way to honor some incredible students who are some of the most talented musicians I have met at Belmont, but as well you will be joining me and my team in honoring the Nashville legend Donna Hilley.

I know I have posted an extraordinary amount lately… but I couldn’t let this pass by. If you haven’t read the post called Effective not Efficient, I would strongly encourage you to read it first.
But, since most of you know me, It won’t surprise you that I read an article today about Apple and their philosophy on leadership and innovation. I felt like it hit exactly their focus and intentional decision to be effective and not efficient. They may have used different words, but take a look for yourself. This is powerful stuff and another way to encourage you to begin discussing how your team can be a vessel of change in people’s lives.
Tim Cook, the current COO of Apple, Inc stated this about the philosophies that govern their leadership team:
We believe in saying no to thousands of projects so that we can really focus on the few that are truly important and meaningful to us. We believe in deep collaboration and cross-pollination of our groups, which allow us to innovate in a way that others cannot.
